Below you will see a small selection of my botanical watercolours. Whilst keeping subjects scientifically accurate, I like to explore contemporary ways of depicting plants and am particularly drawn to specimens that are less than perfect such as autumnal leaves, seed heads and fading flowers, often painting them larger than life. I also like to experiment with black and vellum-like backgrounds.

 

Most of these paintings have sold, were painted as commissions or for other projects such as stamps for the Royal Mail. Hover over each thumbnail to see the details or click on an image for a larger view.
